From a very early age (like 2 years old, still attached to my binky), I memorized songs and sang them at the top of my lungs on the way to daycare. Around the age of 4, I began to create make-up tutorials, dance, sing and act; recording myself as if I were created content for my fans. By the time I was 6 years old, I was accepted into The School for Creative and Performing Arts (a world-class arts magnet program designed to achieve technical mastery in an arts field and traditional academic curriculum) in my hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Simply put, with a name like Amira Nicole, I was destined to perform!
I am currently a Junior at Gainesville High School, where I have been a lead member (Representative, Core Dance and Dance Captain) of Musical Theatre Troop 2445 and Advanced Chorus since Freshman year. This year, I am the Vice President of Troupe 2445 and have been cast in my 1st lead role as Dorothy in The Wiz!
Upon completing high school, I plan to enroll in a top Performing Arts program at an HBCU, complete my B.S in Musical Theatre or Acting, and live my dream of being a professional Thespian and Model. Until that time, I am seeking experiences and roles that will aid in my continued growth by exposing me to new forms of the arts and challenging me in ways that will best prepare me for the beautiful road ahead.
My Competitive Advantage
What began as me just being a cute, talented little girl evolved into something more. Performing and modeling were no longer what I liked to do, they became what I HAD to do. They felt like home. It became obvious that my gifts for performing were part of God’s calling on my life.
Aside from that, what sets me apart is that I am the happy medium between nature and nurture. I was born with an innate ability to entertain (my entire paternal family performs), but I have also been professionally trained and have extensive experience on stage (see my Musical Theatre and media pages). As I continue to train and perform, my craft will continue to be perfected, preparing me for theatrical greatness.
